ICMS launches Next Level MBA

ICMS launches Next Level MBA

May 18, 2023

The International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS) is adding the prestigious Master of Business Administration (MBA) to its bouquet of postgraduate degrees on offer at the industry-focused higher education institution.

The MBA program has been carefully designed to ensure that it is a next-level experience for the ambitious, passionate, and driven, those who are serious about their careers.

With an emphasis on the journey towards mastery of leadership, the ICMS MBA aims to equip students to transform into sought-after graduate leaders who make an impact in their industry of choice.

“Our MBA is for those who want to own it, make an impact, and above all, believe it’s time to take their career and leadership to the next level,” ICMS Deputy Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) Dr Heidi Le Sueur said.

“This is the next level MBA for the next level in you.”

Flexible study for maximum impact

The suite of MBAs is designed to take graduates to the C-Suite.

As well as the flagship ICMS Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which offers a choice of elective subjects, ICMS is also offering three specialisation MBAs:

* ICMS Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics)
* ICMS Master of Business Administration (Innovation and Entrepreneurship)
* ICMS Master of Business Administration (Digital Transformation)

Developed over a significant period of time, with the ultimate goal of providing a superior learning experience to those who are truly committed to their professional pursuits, the ICMS MBA has a distinctive offering as it gives specialisation choices and a delivery model providing flexibility.

Students can study ‘their way’ by choosing between different delivery formats (online, on-campus, hybrid), choose between two campuses, and choose between a full-time or part-time option with classes being offered during the day as well as into the evening.

ICMS campuses are located in Northern Beaches, Sydney, NSW, and in the central business district of Sydney, Australia.

Unlocking Graduates Full Potential

“Our MBA program is specifically designed for individuals who know they have untapped potential and want to unlock their full capabilities,” said Le Sueur.

“Within two years, students will find out who they can really be, but they will leave with so much more than that. They will be a confident, competent, and connected leader, with an international network that will support them on their journey wherever it takes them.”

The MBA course structure is made up of 14 subjects, including two WIL subjects. WIL are professional placements arranged by the dedicated ICMS WIL team who place students in individually tailored internships aimed at building networks and connections, as well as providing real life work experience.

Students looking for an introduction to the MBA, could choose to begin their studies with a pathway option. Nested within the ICMS MBA is the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration, which is comprised of 4 subjects.

An MBA for the Real World

The MBA design incorporates three distinctive learning phases, each with its own characteristics, designed to turn out sought after, digitally literate graduates able to apply what they have learned to real world scenarios, immediately adding value to companies and organisations.

Over the duration of the ICMS MBA, students develop competencies in core functional business areas, apply theory and skills to complex real world problems in a practical project-based approach, and work on a Strategy and Research project to deepen learning.

“The MBA is intended to equip graduates with the skills to enhance the effectiveness of the organisation they work in, while emphasising Ethics, Responsibility & Sustainability (ERS) as one of the four cross-cutting themes of the program,” Le Sueur said.

“The remaining cross-cutting themes are a personalised leadership journey which prepares students to be future oriented and the ability of graduates to lead through change and transformation strategically with a global mindset.”

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Included

ICMS MBA students will have the opportunity to complete an Industry Action Learning Project and a Professional Placement in an Australian or international business within their Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects.

Professional placements are arranged for students by the dedicated ICMS WIL team who will work with them to secure an individually tailored internship role aimed at building their Australian business networks and connections, as well as providing real life work experience.

Career Acceleration with an ICMS MBA

Graduates of an MBA program can take advantage of a variety of career paths. With enhanced managerial and leadership skills, graduates may be eligible for higher positions with increased autonomy – as well as higher earning power.

“An MBA can be a valuable tool for those looking to progress to higher management, pivot their career, or start a new business,” ICMS Postgraduate Program Manager Dr James Cooper said.

“A good way to leverage an MBA is by specialising in areas making it more relevant to your aspirations and future market demands. By then choosing an MBA with strength in industry engagement, you have a competitive edge in the job market.”

An MBA also provides flexibility to switch industries or pursue new opportunities in other countries through the international experience provided by ICMS’ degree programs in Australia. Aspiring entrepreneurs will have access to resources they need to launch their own business ventures within the rapidly-growing global marketplace.

The list below illustrates a few of the wide-ranging career opportunities for an MBA graduate:

  • Account Executive
