Dr. Esther Ngocha-Chaderopa boasts a diverse career, characterised by her dedication to academia, policy development, and community advocacy.
Esther commenced her journey at ICMS in February 2019 as a Lecturer, swiftly ascending to the role of Executive Officer Learning and Teaching from the end of 2019 until May 2021. Following this, she embarked on a series of pivotal roles within government and policy. Notably, Esther served as a Senior Executive Officer at the NSW Government Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC), where her strategic insights and leadership propelled her to the position of Manager Operations. Subsequently, she transitioned to NSW Treasury, assuming the mantle of Associate Director of Strategy and Delivery and later Senior Policy Advisor for Women’s Economic Reform.
In addition to her state governmental contributions, she also held the position of Executive Officer for Regulatory Policy and Intelligence at the Australian Federal Government Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission, leveraging her expertise to enhance regulatory frameworks within the aged care sector.
Returning to ICMS in 2023, Esther resumed her role as a Sessional Lecturer, enriching the academic environment with her wealth of experience and insights.
Dr. Ngocha-Chaderopa’s academic prowess extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by her extensive research contributions. Her research focus on wellbeing, HR practices and migrant care worker issues has garnered widespread acclaim, earning her a spot on the New Zealand National Kaiawhina Workforce Taskforce as an expert. Moreover, Esther’s passion for advocating for vulnerable groups is exemplified by her role as the Board Secretary for the Waiariki Women’s Refuge.
Esther’s scholarly endeavours are further underscored by her prolific publication record and active participation in conferences and symposiums. Her publications and presentations span a wide range of topics, from workforce management to aged care quality and workplace well-being.
