As with all ICMS qualifications, our purpose, experience and difference lies in industry alignment and engagement.

The ICMS MBA degrees include Work Integrated Learning (WIL) subjects that guarantee students a total of 520 hours of work placement.

This means that students are placed in an appropriate and individually tailored ICMS industry partner’s workplace where skills are applied, connections made, and networks broadened.

This is unique to ICMS and ensures an ICMS MBA that delivers industry-specific experience.

The ICMS MBA is deliberately designed so students develop in the following areas as they progress through multiple subjects:

• Personalised Leadership Development: Tailored mentorship and skill-building for leadership.
• Future Orientation and Strategic Transformation: Focus on future trends, technology, and industry mentors.
• Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability: Emphasis on ethical decision-making and sustainability practices.

The ICMS MBA is more focused upon leadership and provides an elevated view of an organisation, its engineering and how it operates.

“An MBA, or Master of Business Administration, is a graduate degree in business and management that provides students with a broad range of business skills and knowledge applicable across a variety of industries,” ICMS Postgraduate Program Manager Dr James Cooper explains.

“It is designed to prepare individuals for leadership roles by providing leadership skills, critical thinking, better communication, self-discipline, improved time management, and more.”

The ICMS MBA offers:

• 10 x Core subjects
• 2 x WIL Professional Placement subjects
• 2 x Elective subjects
• 14 Subjects in total (64 credit points)

Whereas, the ICMS MBA specialisation degrees offer:

• 2 x WIL Professional Placement subjects
• 2 x Specialisation subjects
• 14 Subjects in total (64 credit points)

Core business, management and leadership subjects are across all of the MBAs.

For the specialisation MBAs, two specialisation subjects are taken in the second year.

A benefit of MBA study is the connections gained through the diversity of the student body and the variety of industries and businesses these students come from. Because students must have significant relevant experience to be admitted to the MBA, and they come from all over the world, there are networks extending across a variety of countries, industries, and markets.

In addition, ICMS offers connection to industries through over 1000 industry partnerships. This may occur through work placement, assessment, guest speaking, masterclasses and / or through our developing Professional Development Laboratory.

Classes will be face-to-face on campus with online options too*.

* In accordance with the Australian Government ESOS National Code international students on a student visa can only undertake 33% of their total enrolment load online and must be enrolled in at least one (1) on-campus subject in each compulsory study period. Learn more

All ICMS MBA lecturers are PhD qualified (or equivalent) with extensive commercial and academic experience in their fields.

ICMS has three intakes each year (February, May and September). Additional mid-term intakes may also be available throughout the year, depending on demand.

The ICMS Graduate Certificate of Business Administration is a postgraduate business qualification designed to propel your career to the next level, or can be a pathway to a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at ICMS.

The Graduate Certificate of Business Administration will provide you with transferable skills, industry exposure and knowledge of business practices positioning you for a potential leadership career.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Administration you may wish to continue your postgraduate studies and gain Advanced Standing (credit) towards one of the following MBA degrees:

• Master of Business Administration
• Master of Business Administration (Business Analytics)
• Master of Business Administration (Innovation and Entrepreneurship)
• Master of Business Administration (Digital Transformation)

Applying for course credit

ICMS encourages lifelong learning and provides the opportunity to recognise students’ previous learning for credit in their courses at ICMS. The College is committed to ensuring fair, transparent and flexible credit arrangements in order to award credit for learning already undertaken while maintaining its commitment to ensure the integrity of learning outcomes.
